Turnout in this India election
Do you think Social media, FB, urges by friends, biggies and their Selfies a reason for the big turnout in this India election? I have been asking through social media, for everyone to vote.

What percentage of Indians you think have access to internet let alone social media to make an impact on election turnout. In Mumbai, a big city where you would expect wider internet access, turnout rate is one of lowest at 55 percent.

And Bengaluru , the silicon valley of India also had very low turnout. I think where there was more of a desire for change in incumbent govt , the turnout was better.

In 2009, the voter turn out in Mumbai was just 41.4 %.confuzzled dude wrote:What percentage of Indians you think have access to internet let alone social media to make an impact on election turnout. "Governance works for the rich irrespective of which government is in power, so they do not feel the need to vote. The poor, for whom the government matters most, find themselves ignored and so increasingly do not feel the need to vote," says S Parasuraman, director of Tata Institute of Social Sciences.
