CHENNAI: Hours after DMK chief M Karunanidhi criticised the Union home ministry's directive to bureaucrats to use Hindi as the language for posting their comments on social media websites like Twitter and Faceboook, the home ministry on Thursday evening clarified that government is committed to promote all languages in the country.

A tweet of the HMO said, "The home ministry is of the view that all Indian languages are important. The ministry is committed to promote all languages in the country." ............

Promoting languages is not a government's job.

Promoting education is the job of the government. Language is an integral part of it. If the government indeed is committed to promoting all languages in the country then why spend the taxpayer's money to promote just one language through Hindi Prachar Sabhas?

Yes. But Hindi to be promoted more than others.

THIS IS A BUNCH BULLSHYT. This is blatant imposition of Hindi - First step.

I think it is time for Tamilans to show the center its place. All communication from TN should be in Tamil and English.

hey the center should be happy that TN is using an INDIAN language.

Expect all forms in embassy to be printed both in English AND Hindi - like the good old days.

Cant India produce politicians who are not corrupt and yet be straightforward and sincere?
