isn't there a possibility that hyderabad will eventually become the joint capital of the two states? Just like Chandigarh is the joint capital of the states of Punjab and Haryana.

I don't think so.

If Modi's govt implements the 10 year "special category" status to AP, the state will develop fast since CBN will attract a lot of investment. As per the AP reorganization act, the center has to pay for the new capital. In additin, the locals are already raising money in a big way for supplementing the central funds.

The plan is to develop three economic zones - Vizag area, Vijayawada-Guntur area and Tirupati area. In addition, Anantapur (close to Bangalore) will be developed into an IT hub. Microsoft is already in discussions with CBN on this. Modi govt. already made a statement that AP will be used as a test case for 24/7/365 electricity availability.

I don't see any advantage to people of AP to have the capital in Telangana. Moreoever, in terms of culture, the coastal people are more like the people of TN. In the end, they would be happy that Telangana was separated.
