what god given resources does texas have? it's got steers in fortworth, oil in houston and queers in austin, that's abt it. 

it's a probusiness state tho. and what what comparing ND to TX? texas has 8 of the top 10 growing cities in america. ND has little more than bison and native americans

Another way of looking at it is, Californians are making way too much money and prefer dining at full service restaurants over fast food chains, OTOH, *ahem* Texans..

North Dakota has the lowest unemployment rate in the nation.
Texas is benefiting from high oil prices.
California despite its foolish welfare policies has an economic model that can be replicated in other places. It is based on human brain power.
Among the southern States only north Carolina had a sensible long term program that involves technical education, cheap labor and financial incentives.
