My Nepali watchman came to me and said shahbji:- "
सिरीया का बादशाह मर गया .!!"
.
I switched on to the news channels but
found no such news anywhere.....
..
After an hour.... i went to my garden...and
came to know what he actually meant..."
चिडिया का बच्चा मार गया"

Bad joke! That's not how Nepalis speak. While I was in college, it one of accents that I mastered. Their 'ch' is pronounced with tongue touching the roof of the mouth. It is not pronounced as 'sh'. They confuse between 'sa' & 'sha'. 'sa' is pronounced with a lil roll of the tongue.

We had northie friend who could grew up in Sikkim/Darjeeling spoke Hindi with a very strong Nepali accent. We used to tease him by saying "tu shardi me saal leta hi na".

ah ok looks like for the joke they switched 'cha' for 'sa'.

gotta put a filter on the crap I take from whatsapp lol... the other day a bunch of whasapp shayaris were being passed around as poem from harivansh rai bachchan. I was like, let me google search what poem is this afterall, and ofcourse there was none.
