....Kerala, which has one of the highest per capita consumption of alcohol in the country, is bidding bye to booze. State chief minister Oommen Chandy on Thursday said Kerala will allow only 5-star hotels to serve liquor from April1, 2015, with every Sunday as dry days.

Rape and abuse/exploitation of women - Keral heads that list too - will come down - hopefully.

does this decision reflect the rising muslim population of kerala and islamic attitude's towards alcohol ?? muslims now form 27 percent of kerala's population according to leaked figures of 2011 census .

anyway prohibition never worked anywhere . it just will give a new source of income to the mafia who will deal in illegal liquor . the italian mafia in US rose on the profits made on illegal sale of liquor during the prohibition era in the 30s .

Naww.... They were 15% in 1951 and now only 11%. Ask Al-Akbari - the "intelligent" Advaitin.

Typical hamhanded government! Their only revenue is from tourism (no other industry can survive their lazy, unionized, commie workforce) and now they want to kill that golden goose with this stupidity.
