THURSDAY CRYPTICS - 9/18
Looks like I've become the Madhava Pai for Cryptics. Late T.M.A. Pai (known as Madhava Pai) was the guy who founded all those Manipal educational institutions and the Syndicate Bank. When I was a student at Surathkal we used to invite him as Chief Guest for any function if no one else was available. He used to oblige and give his boiler plate exhortation, and the function was done.
Some recycled.
1. It’s not just lacking in beauty. (6)
2. Spare book. (7)
3. Old article quite battered. (7)
4. Genial saint swallows very little. (5)
5. Large roses ordered for defeated contestants. (6)
6. Choose from among the top ten. (3)
7. Amorous frizzy haired and wobbly bovine moans. (11)
8. Confused birds in part of the flower garden. (7)
9. Unimportant point made over tea initially. (6)
10. Sweet talking royal attracts propositions. (10)

No Indian words in this clue. If there were one, I would indicate that too, like with French/Spanish/German words.Hellsangel wrote:Is this one of your Indian worded clues?indophile wrote:Update. Only one clue remains.

The last clue remaining unsolved in this set is my own, not from some other set. I will post hint(s) soon.

Most such groups are public enough, and anyone with enough time on hands can browse through even a 1000 names and find out someone's id. Unless of course your id is an open book with most suchers, or you don't care about your id being revealed.
