Chat message logs IP address?

Do you guys know if posting messages in the chat room logs your IP address? Is the admin able to see the IP addresses associated with the chat messages?

Yes.. Even if Charvaka may not be able to see it , it is registered with forumotion.
That is how, cops and legalists dig up past statements, threats, and abuses.
I would assume that all websites are legally bound to recrod everything that happens on their servers.
Of course, only Carvaka can say whether the chat statements and timestamp and the member details can be look at even retroactively.

I know that the website itself logs all IP addresses. Was just wondering if the admin can see them. I know the admin can see the IP addresses of all the people who are logged in at any point of time. But for forum messages, the admin can login even the next day and see the IP address of the old posts. Can he do the same for the chat messages - come in the next day and see from which IP address it was posted?

Ask the Maulana. he is more experienced in snooping into privacy and such things.

Not that I know of. Will check this the next time I login as admin.

I checked to see if the chatbox showed any IP addresses to admin. It does not.
