Excuses welcome
one of our friends, from work, got married earlier this month and he is coming back to work on tuesday. now another of our friends didn't go to his wedding and now she doesn't know wat to tell him when he comes back.
back story: he is extra nice to her. sometime back this girl wasn't her cheerful self and was having a tough time at work and her mom was in an accident so she was even more worried. this guy (who got married,) sent flowers to cheer her up and it did cheer her up but he does things like these all the time and she was in two minds about going to his wedding. maybe she wasn't comfortable or sth.
so we, her friends, told her to just go and say she is sorry she couldn't attend his wedding and she really wanted to etc...husband made other plans bcz he forgot abt the wedding. but i think its lame.
also i think none of us gave her good advice bcz most of us r upset with her for not going too. i am not, thats y i wana help
wat cud she say thats more convincing. wats important enough to miss your colleague's shadi ?

Does the friend have kid(s). Babysitter nahi mili has been my frequent. Or if thy sniffle just once I declare some upcoming cold. I don't make flase excuses about sickness. Superstition. When all else fails, hujband takes he blow- kaam tha, emergency release, prodcution issues, entire Europe thama pada hai. Definitely more important than a wedding.

Why keep it a secret from the husband? Am sure he wanted to avoid this wedding more than the friend herself.

I think it is a perfect excuse. I use it all the time.
Anyway, why did this friend avoid the wedding? Because he sent her flowers?

If lukie were here he would conclude that the friend is a northindian. Super scared of husband and raised eye brows.

If so, why is she so bothered about what he will think about her absence at the wedding?
Just tell him that she was busy and couldn't make it.

seven,
If you need drama in your life I can ship some down from NJ here.. too much drama, etc here, and of much stronger quality than trying to come up with excuses for a nonevent.

Re: Excuses welcome
Helping a "friend" come up with an excuse for not attending the wedding of a workplace "friend" - who she normally avoids btw - is a real problem?
Shaven, it's little wonder most of us think you're underage to be here.

you do seem to be wanting one... but not getting a real one so far.
regarding rules of chat.. it's more of a personal choice than an enforced rule, methinks...

Re: Excuses welcome
Seven. Someone in my family died today. After being in a hospital for one month. She was admitted for a totally different reason, so this is a drama in itself. But that's not what gripped my day today. What happened was that her own daughter hasn't been informed yet. Atleast that's what we think coz the last rites have been done and no calls from her so far. Someone in that house was informed, hence this is a mystery. We are wondering how to tackle this when and if we talk to her.
More drama? The person who died is related to my blip blip blah cousin (in-law). They were pretty close. He is inconsolable today too.
Ise kehte hai real drama. Two three other dramatic things happened today. Batau ki pet bhar gaya?

Re: Excuses welcome
theek hai bhaiya... coming up with an excuse for a friend for missing the wedding of another friend is a huge event.... may you have fun resolving it... yes, one should not laugh at other people's problems by calling them non-issues, and I am sorry I even got entangled in this mess.

i can see how u attract drama to you. it took u 2 posts to make this thread abt u and abt drama.
ps: i never intended this to be messy either.
