Re: Indian Team for the 2nd ODI
Is Tendulkar suffering from AZ's curse? Seems like it. The 100th century eluded him in the entire test series. In the ODI format, where he can score a century in his sleep, he is injured and out of the series. Maybe he should heed the warning signs and stop at 99 centuries to gain respect like Bradman.

Re: Indian Team for the 2nd ODI
What a funny irony...
The fittest and the healthiest player - who has not caused any worries or concerns - is the oldest player in the team. Imagine if RD had returned to India with the test team...
May be they should send back VVSL - who knows....

good idea. that way, he can also officially retire from this format like dravid. but they have decided to send badrinath. someone will go down in a day or two. perhaps raina to a bouncer. then they can call laxman.

Re: Indian Team for the 2nd ODI
I think Rain will score 4-0. Beyond India I suspect if any country has something called "Rainy season." And it would be stupidity to think India will win at least one ODI with 8 or 9 players injured.
As for $kar, methinks for some reason that he will end up at 99. Remember Don, he ended up 99.xx as average telling the world that there is no such thing as 100. The game rules, not the people. ;-)
Curse the BCCI if they arrange a ZIM tour (and curse $kar if he plays against minnows) just for getting his 100 100s and retire. Too bad his career is taking this kind of blows. But well old war horse is running out of gas I think.
VVS? If he comes back to ODI's I would assume he is playing for his money, than any pride left (if at all). They discarded him and he knows it too well.

Re: Indian Team for the 2nd ODI
VVSL ain't coming back. What's with VVSL in ODI team story that only CH keeps alive, unless it's sarcastic in nature? Don't think VVSL-in-ODI-team gets this much support in his household even!
On other imp note: Go Sachin, Go Sania, Go SRK.

Yes, the forum support for VVSL in ODIs is primarily due to sentimental reasons. It is a shame he didn't get to play the 2003 world cup and got thrown out of the format too soon. But right now he is several years removed from being a ODI candidate.

Watched the last bits of this 23-23 match - seems like all the Indian bowlers have eaten one too many modaks.
Raina is back in his comfort zone.

what the funk is vinay kumar in the team for? kick his arse out. and give a chance to whatshisname who bowls at 140 or so. seriously, who the fuq is this vinay kumar? i keep on hearing his name but don't recall him doing anything worthwhile in the international cricket.
dhobi sucks too. finally his luck has run out completely (it smiled at him in the final of the world cup; perhaps for the last time) and he is now a burden to the team. can't lead, can't bat. of course, expect him to score half centuries at a strike rate of 200 against some school boys in CL tonty tonty.

Re: Indian Team for the 2nd ODI
This tour has become a joke. Everytime there is a match, Dhobi prepares an advance statement like "difficult day, bowlers need to improve, did not bat deep" and such shit.
Call the guys back and dispose the entire team till Jan. 2012 and blame it on the horoscopes of $kar and VVS or even the solar/lunar eclipse. N. Srinivasan can add whatever he wants for the parliamentary proceedings while our sri-double k-ant can do his antiques elsewhere.

ravi shastri - "and here's the losing captain mahendra singhhhhhh dhoniiiiiii. hard luck, dhoni."
dhobi - "well, of course, you know, we did bat well but we were 15-20 runs short. bowlers could have been better. well, of course, you know, we were never a good fielding side so we need to improve there. well, of course, you know, we are hit by the injuries and 6-7 of our regulars are in india right now. of course, that hurts the chances of our team."
ravi shastri - "what about your form?"
dhobi - "well, of course, you know, i am not batting well but it is important, of course, to give 100% every time. what matters is if you have the fire power and that's what counts."
ravi shastri - "good luck for the next game."
dhobi - "well, of course, you know, we need a lot of it."

Re: Indian Team for the 2nd ODI
Dhobi looks jaded and needs a break from cricket. Since he will not not step aside voluntarily, the BCCI should send him on a forced sabbatical for 6 months. Hopefully, he will come back refreshed and ready to battle once again. If not, tough luck and just move on. Time stops for no one and luck doesn't favor one forever - not even Dhobi.

Re: Indian Team for the 2nd ODI
How about some soccer? His cricket life is around 20/20 and chennai. He had his ups and now is down in the dumps. I am sure he has no other way to go but up. It seems he is hell bent to stay where he is though.nevada wrote: Dhobi looks jaded and needs a break from cricket.
