Rain Song in Tamil
Ya well I was searching for rain songs... so got the options for rain songs in hindi, tamil etc... intrigued I selected the tamil one, and here was this that kinda looked interesting...
1) WHO is vijaykanth?
2) who is unknown, although I think she looks good enough to have a name. Edit: btw what she is wearing 1 min onwards, I used to think THAT were half sarees that upps keep raving about.
3) Aren't all the 'kanth' names not really south indian?
4) No really, WHO is vijaykanth? Where did he come from? What did he do in the movies? WHY is he singing rain songs in the movies?
edit 2: omg the song description says: vijaykanth sexy rain song from tamil movie with unknown.

No, not really. For example, Laxikanth of the Laxmikanth-Pyarelal duo.

No that's not what I meant to say. I was saying that "Kanth" name is not exclusively in SI domain. To drive the point home I gave Laxmikath of the Music directors duo as an example (He is a NI and has Kanth in his name). Others examples are - Kishen Kanth (a politician and a former VP of India), Ramakanth Desai (a former Indian cricketer), Umakanth Sahu ...... and the list goes on.

No. "Kanth" in names is quite common in SI too. Basically Kanth means husband in Sanskrit, and so Umakanth is Shiva, Laxmikanth is Vishnu, Ramakanth is Vishnu etc.
I can't figure out how Kishen Kanth came about, however:-

Thats ez part. Raj "initiated" by the system when you boot up is rajini. Wait, you are asking who is Raj? That is even ezier, It is aj ka "R."
Now, now, you are asking what is "R?" Shame on you, you should ask such things when you actively discuss about Tamil Rain songs, strings, and active "other" discussions with Bittu [what happened to his "Boye" btw? He used it too much? ;-)]

hmm...
tracy = ni
bw opinions on ni actors = they are effeminate and pretty
hence
tracy likes effeminate and pretty actors
is this how the sarcasm worked in your head there?

So am going to do a Rashmun, and post three songs that come to mind
exhibit 1: even the girl is not effeminate in this. heh. The dude is sunny deol. His one hand weighs 2.5 kg they say.
exhibit 2: Sanju... He gots bod. pliss not to deride him for any reason.
exhibit 3: Akshay Kumar

Most of them in songs posted on SUCH are - remember that guy in a song you posted wearing a towel, stripping, while making strange faces?
hence
tracy likes effeminate and pretty actors
Not a logical conclusion.

Not really.
Why, you don't think south indians have effeminate, pretty boys?

Watched 2 mins of exhibit 1 and exhibit 2 - ugh! way too many melodramatic and effeminate moves by the supposedly alpha males. Straight reject.
I will watch exhibit 3 after I recover from this.
I think I have seen this guy Akshay Kumar make a fool of himself at the IPL opening ceremony.

Re: Rain Song in Tamil
I am assuming that that's ur logical conclusion coz I never mentioned any other actor, ni or si, in my earlier posts.
hahaha the towel dude is ranbir kapoor, they made him do that in his first movie... he isn't got a bad bod though, as displayed in later movies, and is less chocolate than his dad Rishi.
Sunny and Sanjay are both not known for dancing anyway. Pliss not to make fun of Sanju, I had already told so.
The third song did manage to turn me on a bit.. old memories with mr w....

Re: Rain Song in Tamil
Tracy, none of the bollywood rain songs you posted is good and none of those heroes can be considered macho. In the first song, Amrita singh looked more manly than Sunny Deol.
Sanjay Dutt, the less said the better. Sorry! His acting, his dialogue delivery, his dancing...all make him look like a buffoon. I also believe that he's pretty low on his IQ too.
As for Akshay kumar, his voice is a big turn-off.
Among bollywood heroes, AB, Vinod khanna, Sunil dutt, John Abraham and Arjun Rampal look manly. Everyone else is blah!
How could you not think abt this rain song when you posted the other three?

I can't figure out how Kishen Kanth came about, however:-

Looked up the meaning of Rajini. It means queen or princess. So, Rajinikanth means king. As Indo mentioned, Kanth in Sanskrit means husband. It's pretty common (suffix to a) name in SI. I guess north indians have it too.

Missed this before. Well sunny and sanjay dutt were the first ones in the 80s who worked on getting the muscles. Salman and akshay took it to the whole new level. Vinod and sanjay dut were fine. Ab would not have survived in the Industry today with that body. Lol at iq. John and Arjun are mostly used as eye candies anyway. Oh, among the two I like Arjun more. I don't think either of them have a higher iq than sanjay dutt though.
I like the songs that I posted. Intact I had originally wanted to post the betaab song as that was playing in my head all morning that day. But posted this instead.
Anyway, now I know who vijaykant is. Got a 5 minute tutorial about the captain on the chat. Sorry if I hurted any fan here. He had just reminded me of this jerk back home who used to jerk off in the trees whenever I walked on my terrace. Maybe that's why my initial dislike or reaction.
