Re: AAP sweeping Dilli
This picture captures why AAP won. Basically 16% of Congress vote moved to AAP and an extra swing vote of around 7% (from other parties JD(U), BSP, Akali Dal etc..). BJP stayed more of less the same from Dec 2013. In the Delhi Lok Sabha elections, overall voting percentage was lower and BJP got 45%. Some of the extra 12% swing BJP got compared to the traditional 33%, has opted to vote for AAP for the state elections.truthbetold wrote:bw wrote:why don't the people of delhi like modi?

Congress Mukt Delhi has been achieved by AAP. BJP also has effectively been marginalized in the assembly but not in terms of vote share.

Keep trying buddy; but one can see the trend, BJP has been losing in local elections in UP including Varanasi, looks like Kashi Vishwanarha hasn't been happy with Modiji's performance, he better perform some sort of shanti homam to remove all doshasrawemotions wrote:This picture captures why AAP won. Re: AAP sweeping Dilli
The final tally of 67 out of 70 clearly shows:
(a) All non core bjp voters united (gave AAP a stunning 53% of non bjp core vote of 68%, ie. approx 8 out 10)
(b) Voters across different types of segments, middle class, poor, urban, rural, different states voted somewhat similarly.
(c) Voters rejected congress, bsp, sp, left and all other parties as crap.
(d) Most importantly, they did not like something about modi, bjp and their government. Is it modi? or his style? Is it hindutva crap they talk about? Is it Kiran bedi? Is it local issues? Is it onion prices? Is it populist promises by Kejriwala? . Yes, it is a combination of some or all of those factors . But what are the 3 or 4 top and key factors?
Finally, Nitish kumar and company will be watching these results and plan accordingly. They could come up with a winning combination. UP is a different ball game with SP's record and AAP jumping in and BSP still playing.
Modi's govt still is strong and should focus on delivering development. But non congress opposition got some life.

3 factors, in addition to the fact that BJP was never a poor peoples' party, contributed to BJP's loss; Trilokpuri, Church arson(s) and middle/upper-middle class govt. employees.truthbetold wrote:The final tally of 67 out of 70 clearly shows:

No such shyt and you and your analysis......A couple of attacks on make shift tent mosques and 3 church attacks could take 67 seats from BJP in Delhi, then the 189 dead people in Bombay and scores of islamic bombings over the last 10 years should have enabled BJP to in win 500+ in 2014.
Simple: Congress was a total failure with the Bar mata doing a 1-day sightseeing tour of Delhi, and people realized a vote for Congress is a wasted vote. 16% shifted from Congress to AAP to bring its share to 50% with another 3 % coming from extra voters. So whoever voted for bjp still voted for BJP. The Muslims who voted for Congress voted for AAP.
In Bihar, the Musalman and backward votes will be split betweem Lalu, Nitish, Paswan, AAP, Congress (..). These cannot agree on an alliance and even if they did it will be easy to identify this as an United Corruption alliance.
So gloat all you want for a few months until the Bihar vote shuts you up. A better suggestion: try to learn a little about Indian political psychology before that.

I'm surprised but delighted by the news: 67-3-0. I think we are seeing the emergence of a shrewd and intelligent electorate. India is beginning to look more like the robust democracy it was meant to be, instead of the Italian colony it looked like a while before where the congress motto was to divide and rule along religious lines and take zero responsibility. The politicians will be held accountable and be trounced out if they spout rubbish and become complacent. It was always these pale-skinned, tall, good-looking royal descendants. What will happen to pappu, pilot and the prince? muffler-man versus man-married-off-as-a-teen. IIT man versus Illiterate man. good stuff, let's see what happens.southindian wrote:That's because the 49 days AAP was in power, they WORKED. Your theory is that Indian voters are intolerant to any kind of religious intolerance, the religion notwithstanding. That's lovely! And you are saying that all the islamic terrorism in India is what brought BJP back to power? So did Congress have anything to do with supporting those terrorist activities for it to be ousted the way it was? Bad congress!confuzzled dude wrote:How do you think BJP went from a 2 seat party in mid '80s to 100+?Marathadi-Saamiyaar wrote:confuzzled dude wrote:

Cd you make dishonest arguments.
Bjp'a 2 seats are in 1984 elections after indira's assasination. Cong won some 400 plus seats and tdp won 39 seats. That election is not reflection of true strength of any party.
I am not joining other parts of your discussion but some level of self scrutiny is necessary to gain and retain credibility. Unless you consider yourself to be a confuse - delay - obfuscate and escape type of party spokesperson.

That was back then; In this decade, other than chaddies most of the electorate aren't falling for BJP's bluff. They elected Modi because they had no choice (after UPA's scandals) it didn't take them long to realize that BJP's modus operandi is like kukka toka vankara.Kinnera wrote:Then your above theory (delhi's church and mosque arson bringing the BJP down) is wrong, CD.confuzzled dude wrote:The only folks that are being dishonest are those that suggest Ramjanma Bhoomi played no role in BJP's rise.truthbetold wrote:Cd you make dishonest arguments.

The Sikular fukwa by Bakri imam has helped Kraziwala. BJP's vote share is intact. CONartists just lost their vote-bank to Kraziwala. That is the difference in the Delhi election. It is CONmen that lost their deposits, not BJP candidates. You may try as hard as you can to make this look like a devastating setback for Modi. Your wishful thinking is just that. If Nitish can replicate Kraziwala's win in Bihar, that will be a genuine indication that the Modi wave is halted. Meanwhile, go and hug the Bakri imam and beg him to issue a fukwawa to pieceful Biharis. Laloo may be willing to reward him with some of the stolen cattle "fodder".

No you're right, Unkil. This was a breath-taking win for Modiji. The BJP came out of these elections in flying colors. Look at the glee on their faces as they high-five each other on how successfully they killed that Krazywala and his sickular supporters.
