this is the story of a bridesmaid
confident and independent
atleast that's what she said

i don't want to marry, she said to other guests
marriage is for women who compromise
i have seen men, i have seen them all
while they are nice, no one deserves my ring

the wedding was over, time for the bride to go
she carried a beautiful red bouquet to throw away
girls lined up, waiting to catch
in the corner stood our bridesmaid,
slowly doing a shoulder-stretch

bouquet flew in the air, so did our bridesmaid
she leaped, she wrestled,
she rolled on the floor with other girls
until she snatched it in her hand with victory

people looked at her with shock
she said she did that to shock purposely
to ridicule this ridiculous practice
but no one was listening

oh, the lonely bridesmaid, with all her pretense
stealing flowers to counter lack of attention
oh lonely bridesmaid, for a change, be honest be modest
and all the love will come automatically
