just tested it. the open comment bug has been fixed.

i would like to go back to old CH. sure, this forum lets you post vids and pics and even lets you type unicode, but i never cared for those features anyway. this is a tough one. many will now want to move back and many won't.

dumb programmers are replacing only one appearance of "<!" but if you enclose it it another one ("<<!!"), you can kill the thread. no, i am not going back just yet.

an easier fix, as someone on this forum said the other day, is to error out when a poster tries to post "<!--". but then muthukumarrs of sulekha will take a month to realize that.

Same here. I'm quite comfortable here. It's a better platform overall (although archival capability and search on archives are yet not tested).
The only draw at Sulekha was the people at CH, and most of them (with a couple of exceptions) are now here. So I'm staying.

i was just checking posts in archives. all para indents are gone. in many places, html command lines have spilled into the text ('cos of the vanished "<").

no. the changes they have made effect all stored data. we see the effect whenever we call any stored data for the data has to go through their program/compiler before we can see it.

woho... I had typed '& l t ;' (remove the spaces), which is another way to type < and used in places < won't work... LOL.. I am not gonna try it there any time soon.

i don't think there was anything weird.. it just converted < to <... which is why I think someone can still break sulekha using < instead of <... or more constructively, have paras while adding <br> actually, let me try the 'good' example there.

How difficult will it be for the "Send" button command to check for "!-" and for closure for each occurrence ?

lol, they deleted it. i also noticed that all of AB's posts have been nuked (check his profile) but his id is intact. so is mine (after i re-reigstered it). what's with this banning users but not addressing the bug.

I think instead of killing threads by threads, they just pick up the initiaters for those threads, and nuke all their posts.

their approach is mighty funny. i have been watching them closely for the last few days. you know they banned muthukumar today!! muthukumar had made his cegonsoft post today (after having been awol for a fortnight) and it was replete with html garbage (indicating that he was always pasting an intricate html formatted page here). and then he got banned!!
