I don't speak your language but I enjoyed this piece and find myself listening to it again. One thing I didn't understand: the gentleman with the long rudraksha mala in the background what is he doing with his mouth and hand?

what a beautiful pasuram by kulasEkara AzhwAr!

translation of the first verse:
the jewel who took life in the praiseworthy kosalai's womb!
you who made heads roll in lanka, glory be to you.

it's a beautiful lullaby.  i think raga nilambari is better suited to this beautiful poem instead of this ragamalika version by sanjay which also good.

yes he is an awesome player patri satish kumar- I have heard him live a few times; his mrudangam input is just optimal-subtle and caressing.. more like tirichy sankaran, umayalpuram sivaraman, vellore ramabhdran

unlike the paraikottu blasts of Palghat Mani, violently tearing the ear drums - particularly its at its worst when Semmangudi says " kotraaa..kotraa.."

Yes. There are few songs I like, where the mrudangam stands out.
