Re: Lord Shiva doing Kung Fu
this seems to be a typical pose of god climbing on top of a demon ( or something like that ) to fight it/him .
does not look like kung fu .

Re: Lord Shiva doing Kung Fu
A typical example of man focussed more on religion than God.
MF Hussain painting nude Hindu Gods, French cartoonist depicting Mr. Md, Hindus worshipping a million Gods with million hands, Shiva doing Kung Fu, and so on.
Next step?
Kill them, because my airline is better than yours.
None of "these" Kung fu people have ANY interest in God.
The very God, for whom, these "Religions" were born.
Man is lost in making the road, so much, that he has forgotten for what this road was meant to reach to?
Fools!

Hi Rashmun,
Its all silly. Not just me :-)
I am an artist myself, and I can see through creative minds who want to make people "think".
If I were to paint a Ganesha, none would notice. Perhaps, I should paint a Ganesha crucified like Jesus? Or shaking hands with Mohammad?
You get the point. Imagination has no limits, and I have nothing against freedom of mind to imagine and express.
Of course, someone made Shiva do Kung Fu, to make it interesting in China.
My point was - What does Shiva represent?
If that representation is mis-represented, should not one wonder where our "values" are going?
By all means, show Jesus doing Tae-kwon-Do, and appreciate its aesthetics.
Beauty has no purpose, if not meaningful.
Regards,
TS.

Shiva may represent different qualities and values to two different bhaktas of Shiva. In that sense there is no question of misrepresenting him. Some may focus on the fact that he was a great Yogi, some on the fact that he was a great dancer, some on the fact that he was a great scholar, some on the fact that he had great physical strength and power, and so on.

Hmm. Rashmun, to me Hinduism is too deep to understand by logic.
Of course Ravan did not have 10 heads in Ramayana. Nor is Shiva about being a dancer, scholar, or with 8 packs Salman Khan.
So, I simplified it in my head.
Those scholars who wrote about Ayurveda, Raja Yoga, Gyan Yoga, Dhyaan Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Vedic Maths etc. were obviously very very intelligent folks. Why did they end up with a Durga with 8 hands? Or a Ganesha with an elephant's trunk? Or a Shiva with dancing abilities, and even a 3rd eye?
One must think beyond what meets the eye.
Why?

TS.
