happy karwa chauth...

... to those who celebrate it. Don't know how important husband is now, but seeing various pics on FB, looks like it worked over the years to strengthen bonding among women fasting and celebrating together. I remember my aunt telling karwa stories while doing their pooja (I think) on this day. Felt good. Sometimes I like rituals and traditions just for this effect.

Is Karva Chaut coming on any of Bihar's election days? If so, Nitish Kumar will be very upset. He wants women to ride bikes to voting booths and cast their votes for him (rather than wasting time on their BIMARU husbands).

Its a silly tradition, yet of belief. God exists because we humans believe. Like Kabir said - Where do U search for me, Main to hoon Vishwas mei.
I had posted very seriously the other day when I claimed - Does God, Md, Jesus, Krishna et all die when Earth dies, and so do the believers one day. After all, we are merely a solar system.
Anyways, I aint happy with this Karwa Chauth tradition today, as I had to google and make Mugli Ghutti 555, or pedialyte for my wife. 16 oz of water, mixed with 1 tsp sugar, and qt spoon salt. Drink it, while I crazily look for the moon!
Break it with a Banana, NOT with orange juice as they show on TV!
A sick mother means - Ghar mei sab ki Watt lag gayi Maamu!

How can a husband live longer worrying about his wife getting sick?
Fast for your own body. At your own pace.
I aint allowing any fasting in my home, unless pre-dawn pre-reqs for diet are met.

no, KC is not observed in bimaru bihar. teej is. teej falls on a different date (about a month before KC) and is a similar festival. teej is observed with gusto in a few other provinces too like punjab and rajasthan (but not bimaru U.P.). my wife, though from bimaru bihar, does not observe any of the bimaru bihar festivals (including teej) save chatt (twice a year). i observe chatt too (as do my kids).
