Rat in London-bound plane leaves Air India red-faced
MUMBAI: An Air India flight from Mumbai to London was forced to return three hours into its journey on Wednesday after a rat showed up in the passenger cabin.
A flyer spotted the rodent when AI131 was flying over Tehran. Since pushing onward to London would have taken an hour longer than it would to return to Mumbai, the commander decided to turn the flight back. ....

Not sure what the big deal is...India is a tropical country and rats and cockroaches are everywhere. With so much cargo being loaded/unloaded some of these are bound to enter plane(s).
The safety concern is that the rat can bite and cut off electrical wires leading to serious trouble. But, it sure is not newsworthy.
In any case, Indian rats are smarter than white pigs.
