The same article says

Despite the improved economic picture, there is still plenty of distress and anger, emotions that have helped spur the success of the Republican presidential front-runner, Donald J. Trump, and rallied many Democrats behind the underdog Bernie Sanders’s attacks on inequality and Wall Street cronyism.
Part of the reason is the unevenness of the recovery, with fortunes diverging depending on where you live, your education and skill level and what industry you work in.

“We are seeing job growth across a range of industries, but we’re also seeing a polarization in the labor market,” said Tara Sinclair, chief economist for the job site Indeed.

Moreover, even as unemployment among those active in the job market has fallen, the overall share of Americans in the labor force has been dragging along at historically low levels. While a growing number of retiring baby boomers is partly responsible, the problem also continues to afflict people in their prime working years.
“That has been the shadow hanging over all the other labor force statistics,” said Patrick O’Keefe, director of economic policy at CohnReznick, an accounting, tax and advisory firm. “Underutilization of a potentially significant share of our labor force is a significant explanation for why the overall recovery has been sluggish.”
Dems shouldn't get too excited from this news.

Whether he has the answer to it or not, he can use that anger. Surprising that those still in distress are turning to him and not Sanders.

no seriously. put aside the fact that we have sparred for years on this board and have little overlap in our political inclinations. do you seriously think this is a desirable state of affairs? you almost sound gleeful that donald is able to successfully engage in demagoguery. aren't you even a little afraid?

So no problem with the man having the nuke code? That sort of apathy is what we read in history produced the third reich. It's nice to think and feel we are above it all but ultimately we could get someone who could get us to a regretful point. Can't rely completely on the checks and balances. Better to have someone sane.

Well, we had the nuke code with dubya for 8 years. Did you worry then? If you compare dubya to trump who is more riskier?

Trump is far riskier than Dubya. Trump is our equivalent IMO of the North Korean fatty.

>>>the system of checks and balances is tried and tested. I wouldn't be that dismissive of it. Are you seriously suggesting there is going to be a third reich redux in the Unites States?

We came close with a very level headed president during the bay of pigs. Do you want to entirely rely on the checks and balances? What if he aligns himself with the one rogue general and admiral? Yes I do worry. It's not as far fetched as you think. Why the apathy?

You're just what they call a worry-wart. In fact you're the one who seems miserable now.

>>>The fact that it was JFK who prosecuted that disaster is an indication that level-headedness is no insurance against giant missteps.   Incidentally, the plan was cooked up under Eisenhower, not exactly a rogue president. That is not to say the level-headedness is not a desirable thing, but I don't find Hillary being any less capable than Trump of getting us into a mess and I have faith that the system will provide the counter-balance if we are talking of Hitlerian moves.

I wonder how many of the moderate-republicans have voted in the primaries, my guess is close to zero; if Trump becomes republican nominee not many will turn up for the general elections either.
