True of most milk-based desserts which is why I asked. Never had junnu. Is that made from colostrum, milk after the calf is born, or am I mistaking it for some other dish? Some Chocolate-based desserts harden when chilled and become too brittle in maintaining the original taste.Propagandhi711 wrote:goodcitizn wrote:Does it taste better when chilled?

correct. it has the greatest texture of all desserts that I know of.
regarding other desserts, I am not fond of chocolate so dont even try them so wouldnt know. I dislike almost all western desserts.
ps: watch the senile1 hitch his adult diaper and wade into this with some religion based insults shortly.

yeah..indeed, it's such a delight - with the gradual increase in temperature, one experiences a gradient of subtle phase transition in texture, and the progressively increased solubility of the ingredients liberating the flavor(s) in a crescendo mmmmm... this i enjoy every time with chocolate thins that have mint cream inside; like 'after 8' chocolate mints, simple but very satisfying

Yes, it is made from colostrum milk. I don't remember if chilled one tastes better than warm one for the fact that it contains cardamom & black pepper powder.goodcitizn wrote:True of most milk-based desserts which is why I asked. This is a fave of mine. Sadly, it's not available commercially in Bangalore.
I was delighted to discover that it is a mainstream sweet here in Mumbai. It's called kharvas and is stocked at most Maharashtrian sweet shops. I permanently keep an inventory in the fridge and every time I visit Bangalore, I carry a couple of kgs of this stuff for relatives.

Thanks for the pointer, Hot Dog. I'd never heard of such a product before - will definitely look up this shop on my next visit.
I know for sure Asha Sweers in Mwm doesn't have this. They do have great kheer kadam though, better than even the ones from Kolkata. I pick up a couple of kgs of the stuff when returning from Blr, just to prove the point to my Bong friends.
