i think she has truly put her foot in the poo. wish she had remained silent. what's the need to insert herself like this in the conversation? i am generally an admirer, but this does not behoove her. terribly disappointed.

Shows that one should not deal with idiots and should leave them alone.

Now, OTOH, Trump is not president yet and she does have voting rights as anyone else. So it certainly is not illegal for her to comment. It may not be traditional but certainly not unethical. Like anything else, it is the first time (make that second time in history) in history and hence shocking.

She should respond to Trump in his own style "Go ahead and sue me" Nothing will happen. The US Congress is not going to impeach her on a comment made about a half-crazy idiotic clown, whom half the GoPians hate anyway.

Yes but the problem if this election lands in the SCOTUS a la bush v gore, she'll have to recuse herself. wonder if senility is setting in. After all nobody can escape from the ravages of aging.

Recuse - she might as she is not likely to retire if Trump wins. OTOH, everything changes only after the convention. Sooner or later Trump's idiocy will catch up with him and with the voters.

Who was that woman who "made" Dubya the president by defeating Gore? She retired after making Dubya the president.

i am surprised questions about why they can go on forever never arose when antonin scalia went duck shooting or whatever with darth vader, or when justice pubic hair's wife became a tea party activist.

she has the grace to apologize. we don't see that very much among public officials. it's refreshing.
