This was close, but it will be interesting to see what Perry, Bachmann and Gingrich end up doing. If all three drops out, Santorum suddenly grows up and becomes an adult candidate. But if Perry drops out, then Gingrich has a revival in South Carolina. It doesn't matter whether Bachmann drops out, but the amount of fun the campaign is for observers like me is directly proportional to how long she stays in.

The victory is largely symbolic. The seats will be divided on voting percentage so it does not matter. It was not a case of winner takes all.

Here is a nice article

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-57350781-503544/the-overhyped-unrepresentative-iowa-caucuses/?tag=re1.channel

A total of 119,188 people participated in the 2008 Iowa Republican caucuses. That's about 20 percent of Iowa's registered Republicans, 4 percent of the population of Iowa, and .04 percent of the total U.S. population; it's also less than half as many people as fit into the seats at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

the iowa GOP electorate drama is not about the nominee but about who's dropping out, mostly.

Haha, spreading santorum indeed! This campaign is finally moving that website off from the #1 result for his name. Perhaps this is why he was running all along -- to get that smear off his back!

Bachman backs out.

I wish Palin had entered the race. That would have resolved the issue of Palin power once and for all.

8 votes - So if Santorum becomes the prez, he should give these 8 voters cabinet positions - per Indian political Dharma.

That's the point. should someone drop off or get a boost based on a small polarized set?
