A hero called Rashmun Empty A hero called Rashmun

It is said that, in the beginning, there was the Earth (Gul-tek), the Sun (Amm-ra), and the Moon (Nuutkull).  When the children of the Gul-tek saw that Amm-ra was sick and declining, they chose a hero called Rashmun to hold Amm-ra in the sky.  Rashmun was believed to have no weaknesses and feel no fatigue, and so the children of Gul-tek were able to live under Amm-ra’s light both day and night.  When the Nuutkull saw that Gul-tek’s children valued Amm-ra over him, he grew jealous and sought vengeance upon Rashmun.  He looked all over for Rashmun’s weakness, but Nuutkull was unable to find it.

One day, while hiding from Amm-ra in a cave, Nuutkull was visited by Nu’ut’tcof (Stars), who wished to see Nuutkull as ruler of the skies.  Nu’ut’tcof told Nuutkull of a single spot on Rashmun’s shin that would cause the hero to fall.  In return for this information, Nu’ut’tcof asked Nuutkull for a spot in the sky.  Nuutkull agreed and, the next time he ventured from his cave, he visited Rashmun.  Rashmun scoffed at the Moon for all the Moon’s attempts at felling Rashmun, however the man did not know Nu’ut’tcof had told Nuutkull of the weak spot on his shin.  The Moon tapped this point, and the bone in Rashmun’s leg broke, causing him to collapse and the sun to fall from the sky.  Happy with Nu’ut’tcof’s loyalty, Nuutkull invited Nu’ut’tcof to join him in the sky, and together they ruled the Night Kingdom, and the kingdom of Mul'hinu fell into darkness.

However, Gul-tek’s children were quick to aid Rashmun.  With Gul-tek and the aid of Gul-tek’s wife, So (Water), the humans mended Rashmun’s leg so that Rashmun could stand and pull Amm-ra from her fallen spot.  The brightness of the Sun was too much for the Moon and for Nu’ut’tcof, and they fled back to their cave, which shielded them from the Sun’s rays.  There they rested until they were strong enough to venture out once more.  Every night, Nuutkull would go to Rashmun and tap the spot on his shin, allowing Nuutkull and Nu’ut’tcof to rule the skies at night, but leaving the day to Amm-ra.
