I was trying to edit and add the pic..messed up a few times, and I could not add the tamil font.

When it comes to rangoli kolams, I like bright and vibrant colors Max..what can I say!

Tracy!

It's true for the most part..am attracted to colorful and vibrant.

But, when I have to be around pale, dull, depressing and dark (as in mood and energy)..do the best I can to adapt..without absorbing too much of that energy. Occ..I do like pale colors, white and black- clothes or paintings/photos etc. And calm and serene people are nice to be around too..it's almost necessary to balance all the high energy.

i wonder how easy or difficult it is to explore pointillism using kOlam/rangOli. from my uneducated standpoint, it seems that it's a natural fit.

what would it take to do something like this?

Nice pic..like the colors:)

I am not a Kolam-Rangoli expert..just know the basics, but, looks like it may not be that hard for a skillful artist..may be you should suggest this to people who can do it!

There was a Sulekha CH poster- Persephone..she was very good in this.

Although, it's not the same..am sure..many of you have seen graffiti street art in the US and Europe..some are really amazing.

we have seen elaborate rangoli displays during the competetions in our schools. When high school kids can manage it, am sure it can be done. But why spend so much energy on something so temporary. Many rangoli artists later become mural artists. my aunt is one.

that is george seurat's iconic painting - a sunday afternoon on the island of la grande jatte. my daughter did an art project last year inspired by it. you can see the original the next time you visit chicago. it hangs at the chicago art institute's post impressionist collection.

Seriously..just wondered why you and others..never came by and keep in touch. It's not like getting a visa to drop by in Sulekha..or being denied a visa to return here! People who remained/remain in the Sulekha are good friends too..have given company for so many years.

Anyways..new beginnings - at least trying a fresh start is good too. I always liked and had fun with you, good to interact again Sasthi!

There are so many choices now..and the platform was/is secondary to me.

It's always primarily for the folks who have always been kind to me and shown mutual respect and affection. And I will always continue to visit Sulekha and other sites..where it remains..even if it's for a few people.

Came here..for the same reason- for the few who always were pleasant, fun and respectful.

So far, so good.

I think Carvaka's creativity and effort/hard work is to be appreciated Wish you all a ......... 459784477

well, most of my posts were getting mangled on that site. not fun anymore, specially when we could find an alternative, and move along with most of the people that we've had fun interactions with. Hope the rest adopt this platform too, and life will be good.

You are certainly entitled to your views. I don't see it the way you do Kinnera, and while the interactions are far less, I always have a good time there- with the people there.

I am not worried about how long that will last..never did- anywhere..as long as I am able to- will have a good time.

Looks like Nanban is getting good reviews, esp about Sathyaraj and his role..seems like a fun movie..

Yep. Thanks...and enjoy making delicious pongal with lots of cashews, raisins, and ghee. All (very few 1 2) my friends back home only call me during Maattu Pongal and this time I am not picking up the phone. (every year i think of not answering but fail...let's see ..this year I will wish them before they say any word...)

Yes..Vijay is one "lucky guy- enormously lucky guy"..nothing more to say!

Interestingly, except for our brave friend Sasthi who has said he is dynamic and delectable, I have never heard anyone directly and specifically say "Vijay is a good actor", "Vijay is so handsome", "Vijay has so much potential", Vijay is unique-one of a kind"..and the broad generalization "I like Vijay..there is something about Vijay" etc, etc..BUT, his movies are such mega...huge box office hits- rake in money like very few stars/movies can.
