For a country that prides itself on being serious contenders in the IT race, this official website is not fit for purpose and the whole process perhaps contributes to the employment of some expatriate citizens of India but, judging from the atmosphere in the agency’s waiting room, to the disbelief and frustration of the many.

This Feku administration can't fix nothing.

Yeah, decades of Sikularism has created such a culture. If Modi tries to change it, Jagan and Pappu will demand his resignation and attend an iftar party to pig out on barbecued meat....

It is a fucked up process which is neither fully online nor fully paper based. You need to fill different forms online, note down reference numbers, jump to a different site where you fill up more forms, and then have to print out the forms anyway. All they need to do is combine everything into one consolidated application form with 20-25 pages. Applicants can then just print out, fill the application by hand and submit all needed documentation. I don't know how I pulled it off, but I recently did OCI for my family and we all got the OCI cards within 6-7 weeks. I had to call up their customer service a few times for help. I submitted in person and sure enough, they nitpicked about a minor thing(full name instead of just letter for parents' last name) for which I had to redo the entire forms and go back the next day.
