Trace for you:

Jeremy Lin is a 6'3" Harvard educated Asian American Christian Point/Shooting Guard who is lighting it up on the biggest stage of Pro-Basketball (NBA) playing for the New York Knicks. He started 7 games for NY in the past fortnight and they have won all of 'em. Lin still isn't polished and has a huge assist-to-turnover ratio but, is a fearless player and scorer who wants to make his teammates better by feeding them the ball at their sweet spots. Lin also possess a few old-school herky-jerk moves and can score in the paint. He's also not fazed by the big stage like when he scored a tie-breaking 3-pointer aganist the Toronto Raptors with 0.5 seconds remaining.

Have been following him (courtesy: truehoop.com) since he went mano-e-mano against John Wall (#1 pick) in the Summer League 2 seasons ago and then GS Warriors playing in the Bay Area gave him a contract. They cut him, and then Dallas Mavs took him and he lit up the D-League playing for the Mavs but, Mavs are stacked and he got cut again.

Then recently, NYKnicks gave him a shot; they've had injuries in the pG/SG positions and he got to start a game and the rest is well...history...

What a difference one person can make- to energize and liven up this NBA season!

Have only watched clips- yet to watch him play one entire game.

I just hope he has people around him-who genuinely offer good advice and support..if he makes mistakes/does not live upto expectations..the same media will trash him and bring him down.

In the meantime.. it is exciting Smile !

ESPN has become the CNN of the sports media, equating Lin to Tebow. Tebow has absolutely nothing in common with Lin. Effing idiots those ESPN analysts.

You are missing the obvious link: They both play for the Glory of God!

oh yeah. I heard about their special relationship with God. Lin went to Harvard, right. Before that he was in Palo Alto. Wow, such a religious person coming out of such places.
Who would have thunk it.

Well, Pres. Obama was born in Hawaii..was raised by a single mother who was an Agnostic..he worked for the Catholic Charities..says he "found God- when he was not even looking for him"...decided to "publicly be born again" with the "Immersion Baptism" as an adult by his own choice..way before he became a Politician- Pres or Senator..speaks about Faith and God more eloquently than most pastors who do it for a living..

Can be from anywhere..and certainly Glorify God "with sanity" in any way one wants to!

Sarah Palin apparently likes God and likes the Linsanity too..and made the Knicks "her team"..anything is possible!

usually ppl find god when they're are running for public office, or waiting execution on the death row in red states with heavily uneducated and nutty population. other times when people find god (publicly): when they're found guilty of some transgression that came out publicly and is potentially career ending.

You are certainly entitled to your views DUT..I have different views!

Politicians/Athletes are very human too..being a Politician does not mean..they can't have deep personal faith..sure, some use it to win elections or put on a show...but some don't- why should anyone be ashamed to say they believe in God/Higher power..while they do/perform their duties well- meet all the requirements (being a politician or an athelete on the court/field does not minimize faith)..as long as they "don't force" their faith on others..and "FAIR" to all- whether they believe in God or not!

Everything we do in life..is for the glory for somebody..for ourselves, our families, others we care about..I don't see anything wrong in giving "some glory" to something larger than ourselves-super human.

if you have glory to give, give it in pvt. why pronounce it publicly that you're giving your glory to your dog if you arent planning to take advantage of similar dog loving feelings among your target audience?

Hope you are having fun- have a good weekend!

DoofMan - religion normally has its roots from family not educational institutions. To paraphrase - one tends "to lose their religion" in college

You just had a case or TAZettes, eh?

The Bay Area has lots and lots of churches of many denominations specially catering to the Asian Christian population. Jeremy Lin like Michael Chang (tennis player, French open winner) has always been involved with the Church...
