..the only language really being used with the multi-font support here is Telugu.

well, I don't use hindi font coz there might be people here who know Hindi but not devnagari... besides, am lazy to figure out and download stuff to do this. I have life you know.

you have to know the phoentic spelling in intrans too. it is not that easy. btw do you readily know where the itrans guide is (for hindi devanagari).

also, don't know about telugu, but for tamil the roman english script is not exactly suitable. lot of ambiguous pronunciations in tamil (like gandhi and kandhi, inthiran and enthiran or maybe enthiran and endhiran).

i am having difficulty expressing myself i think.

say i want to type rani.

when i type rani i get रनि
when i type rAnI i get रानी

where do i go to learn to spell रानी as rAnI

i used to know this but i have forgotten.

yes this table is great. the padma software understands both forms of spelling hindi letters as shown in the table above (more specifically in the "OR" portions). we should add this table to the hindi sub-forum how-to thread.
