France took a left. Greece continues it journey to oblivion. Election results will add so much more confusion to an already broken eurozone leadership. There are no quick solutions herebut lot of new questions. Markets will take this bad. Already asian markets are hit. Euro stocks may be hit hard. Usa could also see a steep decline.
Obama will not like this but the socialist win in france may help mitt romney by throwing eurozone into bigger trouble. Down the road usa could face even slower growth rate.

I think the challenge to the German model of austerity in the middle of a severe recession is overdue. Hollande's election can actually help things along in the long run, although in the near-term the markets will react very negatively, and that does have the potential to drive down growth all over the world. The key question now is how the Germans react. The opposition SPD there has already said austerity during a recession is bad idea; there may be people in Mrs. Merkel's coalition who agree. If the Germans act in concert with Hollande's France, things may yet get better rather than worse in a few months. At least, that ought to be the prayer in the Obama camp.

A change in german thinking is probably the answer. Hollande also has to.move to center. These thingls take time. Events may spin out of control before a franco german compromise. Short term pain is certain.
