8"-10" Tablet reco?
Hi All,
Any good reco for a 8-10" tablets? My primary use would be to see in (tablet) what I see in my smartphone/HTC touch (windows).
I just need the bigger screen. Dont want to go for larger phones since most are not Windows based and dont want to carry around bigger telephone either. Any good recos are welcome and thanks in advance.
Any hw/electronics geeks can recommend (if it is possible) to get the tablet display unit alone (if it can be powered and used as display extension for the smartphone)?
Thanks again.
FH

Some Android phones have a "webtop" accessory that you have to buy separately -- that's basically just a big display and dock that turns your phone into a tablet. I haven't bought the webtop for my Droid Razr though.

I guess the webtop is not an option as it seems to be pricy and bulky. IF I have to go for droid based tablet, Which one is the best? In terms of less issues to deal with and good os?(ICS). Thanks again for your time/reply.

If you are willing to wait a couple weeks, the Google Nexus tablet is about to come out. The rumored price point is $199 -- hard to beat. It will likely run the next version of Android, codenamed Jellybean.FluteHolder wrote:I guess the webtop is not an option as it seems to be pricy and bulky. I came to know that my HTC touch cannot be connected thru MHL-HDMI since it is not MHL compliant/capable. I am forced to give up this for a latest Android phone. Even If I get a phone, I will have to use 2 cables to connect to a tablet which will make it so messy. I am thinking about going for a good Android with a larger screen (I guess the max size available now is 4.52 Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch). What you think about this? Any good reco for a larger screen? Though it will become a bulky/longer phone, I will avoid having 2 cables/tablet along with it.
Thanks again for your time.

Re: 8"-10" Tablet reco?
I believe the S3 has a bigger screen, at 4.8 inches. They are taking pre-orders for that on all four major carriers, and it should launch in a matter of weeks. Also look into the Galaxy Note -- that straddles the phone/tablet divide nicely at just over 5 inches. I have generally found my phone quite adequate for all my browsing and reading needs. Recently I was on a one-week business trip where I did not open my laptop at all and carried on all my work and personal communication with just my phone. And the screen on this phone is not even as big as the S3 or the Note. I don't see myself buying a tablet any time soon -- just don't need one.FluteHolder wrote:panini press wrote:If you are willing to wait a couple weeks, the Google Nexus tablet is about to come out.
