yeah rite.
One thing though.... The gas sector is expanding tremendously, and they can't find engineers. The few Petroleum engineers get fat offers from prime areas, no one wants to live in the Dakotas, or Alaska.
So Indians - those who are after money and J O B s - should study Mechanical or Chemical - the next preferred engineers by the Petro-chemical industry, and make mega bucks anywhere in the world over the next 20 to 40 years.
Of course, try convincing the desis.

The energy boom is big news. This has the potential to be as significant as the dot-com boom was.

IIT or no-IIT, desis are zeroes and have no "scope" when it comes to outside book knowledge.
