thanks for the pointer on the coursera course. i am thoroughly enjoying myself and learning something about which i know next to nothing. so far it's just a review of QM, material very familiar to me, but i am hoping to learn a lot of new stuff over the coming weeks. the real interesting aspects are the discussions that occur in the discussion forums. a lot of learning happens there. it's really awesome! i was skeptical about this form of learning and teaching, but this has really opened my eyes given me pause. it can be quite effective i think.
