Good news
I am happy to report that the bicoastal liberal conspiracy to push the gun control agenda is failing. I speculated earlier today that liberals may be killing people in order to attract attention to the issue of easy access to assault weapons. It is possible they killed people in Texas today, but their tactics are not succeeding. A quick survey of the web sites of various news outlets allows me to report that fortunately Americans have incorporated one mass shooting a week into their routines. It is not big news any more.
CNN: News of the mass shooting is not the top news item. The top news item is: "She Created the Cosmo Girl." It has a picture of an old lady in a red dress and high heels being held up by a group of young men. Other stories that get center-stage billing: "A Games to remember," "Jennifer Aniston heading back to altar" and "Floating body shocks rescuers." News of the boring mass shooting is off to the side.
Fox News: News of the mass shooting is not among the top stories at all. The top item is: "Ryan, Obama trade attacks in Iowa." The other three top items are: "Rep Raises Alert on Illegals Barred From Deportation," "Zimmerman Lawyers Won't Argue 'Stand Your Ground'," and "Affair Scandal, Faked Death Sink Navy Sub Leader."
Huffington Post: News of the mass shooting is not on the first screen that comes up. Leading story: "'GAME OF THRONES' AUTHOR BLASTS GOP 'VOTER SUPPRESSION'."
ABC News: The top story here is very interesting, unlike the mass shooting: "Man Loses Memory in NH, Follows Clues Home to NC."
Congrats American media for defeating this bicoastal liberal conspiracy. You know boring when you see it. Your coverage will be even better if you don't put next week's massacre on the front page at all.

Re: Good news
Question:
Why aren't american citizens allowed to bear arms in an aircraft? Isn't that a direct infringement of the Second Amendment? Don't they need self defense inside a plane? Or if the food isn't good enough (airline food, cmon!), shouldn't they be allowed to hunt?

Your bicoastal liberal jokes apart, you have a point. If only passengers on the 9/11 hijacked planes had concealed guns on them, the planes would not have taken down the World Trade Center. The hijackers would have been shot dead by passengers and all would have ended in heriocs. Did you know that in Switzerland, it is mandatory for national guard members to keep semiautomatic weapons at home? Why do you think Al Qaeda didn't target Switzerland but they targeted the US? I think they should make guns mandatory on planes to prevent security issues.

Re: Good news
just for kicks i posted b-wock's comments on a fast moving news board. here are a sampling of replies to my post:
you're well advised to return to school and pursue higher education.
Somehow, somewhere needs to help you understand the potential
consequences of guns going off 40k in the air, self defense or not.
Ever heard of hijacks?
There
is a small grain of truth in what you wrote. But it is in regards to
the pressurized compartment of the plane. A shot inside the plane could
de-pressurize the compartment putting all lives at risk. that is why
the infringement of the right to bare arms was allowed.
Outside there are no pressurized compartments so the arguement will need to be different.
It is feared that we might start shooting all the illegals on the plane

everyone has the right to bare his/her arms, even in an airplane, at an altitude of 40,000 ft.MaxEntropy_Man wrote:"A shot inside the plane could

yeah i thought you might enjoy that. incidentally the english word bear and the sanskritic bharanti and greek pheronti are all from the same IE root meaning to carry.
