[justify] it is no longer frankenstorm. It is just a post tropical storm.
Sandy pounded coastal ct. Tides reached 8ft in new london and 12ft near bridgeport. Lot of water on streets. Power disruptions. Few minor incidents such as roof collapse.
Sandy's path moved a little bit to central and western new york. Ne was spared from further hurt.

So was it hype or was it good preparedness? From close quarters the fed, state, local govt actions seem prudent. They may have prevented serious loss of life.

What is your assessment from your vantage point?

It was because of good preparedness. I see pictures of water and waves in houses along eastern shores. Imagine people still in those houses when waves hit those houses.

Wait! Romney team may not agree with you and am sure coming with pictures of people complaining against the Govt.

my assessment: obama persuaded the storm with his oratory and promises for more hope and change if he's reelected.

Give the credit where it is due.

I am the one who tamed Sandy and told her "you ain't no biggie, and these guys are exaggerating your prowess".

But, I think NJ has the worst damage. houses are damaged within 200 yards of the oceanline. These houses are not as cheap as those in New Orleans. Also, no power in NJ or phone lines (so to youtubes from Impy and "For you Max" dedications today).

Much of NY and MA spared.

We need a hurricane in Texas in time for the elections.
