Out of the four wives, shatrudhan's wife led the best peaceful, even if low key life. Laxman left his to go on vanvaas. And I think so did Bharat, even though he was the king. Sita, we all know her troubles. Shatrudhan did nothing crazy. Lived in the palace and so did his wife, with him.

No, they didn't. Since Laksham was away from his wife for his bro's sake, Rama thought it wouldn't be fair on his part to enjoy with wife Sita. So he practiced abstinence during all those yrs.

Which Rama are you talking about - Valmiki's or Tulsidas bhaiyya's? Medieval Ramayana correctly portrays medieval India.

Rama actually requests Sita not to follow him to the forest. She overrules and gives a lecture! She says, "get me that golden deer" and he says, "yes dear". He goes through all sorts of trouble to rescue her from Bittu!

Jethmalani asks the most important question - was Rama a historical figure?

Also, unlike Tulsidas bhaiyya, Valmiki didn't portray Rama as a God.

You mean...... a bad husband of women married to other men? Yes, monomaniacs will become mad if you question his perfect character. They will be very happy with Ravan for liberating Sita and upset with Rama for trying to get her back back from the great man.
