4-yr old raped in a moving Bus in Bombay

.....A four-year-old nursery student has been raped in a school bus that was taking her home in Mumbai. The suspect is the 35-year-old bus conductor; he has been arrested. The girl was sexually assaulted on Tuesday afternoon. Being the last to be dropped home, she was the only student in the bus when the conductor allegedly raped her. ....The driver's role in the incident too is suspect. He claimed to the police that he neither noticed the girl being attacked nor heard her cries for help.

Just dont know what to say.....

How in the world a 30-something driver keeps driving a bus without knowing what is happening inside the bus, while his 35 yr old conductor rapes a 4-yr old little girl?

I thought only the have-nots had no chance against the haves. Now, I think the less powerful - money, influence, power, physical strength - have no chance against the more powerful.

Shame on these indians. On the one hand, they pray to Goddesses on a daily basis, and at the same time, beat and rape girls and women.

I am beginning to think something is psychologically wrong with most of the males - much of that should be blamed on the "traditions" and "culture" of the society.

Eh? The story at that link reads "molested": "There was no rape or attempt to rape. We are rectifying our mistake," Singh said. "The section for rape was applied in this case by mistake and we are contemplating removing it with the permission of the court," Mumbai police spokesperson Ambadas Pote said.

Anyway, even the "inappropriate touching" bit is only the parents' conclusion. There was also a woman attendant in the bus (as is mandatory in Mumbai for all school buses) and she denies any such event occurred.

PS: I'm beginning to think journos now carry daily targets on the number of rape stories they need to file. So on slightly less productive days, they embellish whatever material they get to meet the numbers. The only purpose this incessant, obsessive reportage on rapes from across the country is serving is to desensitize people even further.

OK. It is not 100% rape.

But it was still inappropriate touching.

The very fact that the kid complained to her parents means something bad took place.

Who know where his hands were?

I think reporting about it was a good thing.
