Btw there is no such word as hindian. People whose first language is Hindi are called hindavi or Hindustani:

Not sure about fun place. To me, it has some fun moments- some funny posts. Usually click on a few threads, and read a few posts. For me personal intrusiveness, gossip and attacks- bringing up the same old bad stuff are boring and a turn off.

*Sambhar- if used for a person- is a slight/snub used for Tamil Brahmins. I think it would offend them, *but- can't speak for them.

It appears the word "saambaar" came from Sanskrit. The word "sambaara" in Sanskrit means a collection of spices. Since "saambaar" is in its most basic form is nothing but a spicy lentil soup, there may be some validity to it's Sanskritic origins. Smile
