amazing control and expression especially the measured extended pause(s) last couple of lines brings out the expression of 'helplessness' and 'disappointment' in full

very nice. i'd like to listen to a nice serious carnatic version. unfortunately, the oldies like DKJ used to run through it like a thukkada and the newer o.s.arun types are too quirky. the one beautiful version i heard many years ago was by t.v.sankaranarayanan. however i couldn't find it on youtube. beautiful poem.

a decent version:



i like the one which is wholly in jonpuri like this one. there are a few ragamalika ones which begin with jonpuri and then go off into desh etc. don't care for that.

come to think of it, i would loved to listen to sIrkAzhi govindarAjan sing this.

blah....I've never heard a version of this song that blows me away although karthik's sounds better to me than priya sisters

nice song.. I always felt Karthik lacks the depth when he sings in movies. his song in NEP is a prime example for that. But this song was very good.
