SuCHers For The Birds ...
How would you match a SuCHer to a bird? My take:
Rashmun -- Ostrich (Buries his head in the sand often)
Nephew Merlot -- Mocking Bird (Particularly at Chaddis)
Hellsangels -- Roadrunner (Our Wile. E. Cayote can never catch him)
Propa -- Woodpecker (Brazilian senoritas have that impact)
Maria -- Penguin (A flibbertigibbet a willow-o'-the wisp a clown)
Max -- Kingfisher (Beer lover)
Impy -- Peacock (Foxy lady Gangnam style)
Uppster -- Owl (Wickedly wise)
Carvaka -- Gouldian Finch (Colorful)
bw -- Trumpeter Swan (Voiceful graceful)
Tracy -- Love bird (In a cage not for long)
Hoozay -- Thrasher (Kolkata Corleone)
JM -- Bald Eagle (An endangered species)

Haha, so what bird are you?
You are too kind... first time someone described me as colorful. Grey and boring is what I was going for! A CEO with garden once came up with the name Crowaka, that may be more appropriate for me.

Lol. I see penguins as friendly, playful, cute, and intelligent. Actually my daughter LOVES penguins. She can't have enough of penguin collectibles. When we went to Boston aquarium last year, she spent almost entire time in that area.

Re: SuCHers For The Birds ...
fyi, growing up my nick by some was chidiya, and by others was mitthu (parrot). Coz I talked a lot.
Actually, as a lil toddler, I didn't talk at all. Was a late bloomer. Up until I was 2-3 years old, I barely talked. I later read (when my own daughter would not talk much as a baby), that babies who have way too many thots going on in their heads learn to talk late, as they can't bring out what exactly they wanna say, so they stay quiet. So anyway, some god-knows-who told my nanny that if you feed the water that's been drank by a bird to the toddler, then they start talking. Frustrated, one day she did it. Coincidentally, I began chirping soon after. Ultimately, she regretted doing that, coz I would just not shut up. I fed no bird water to my girl, but man... she talks marathon too.
Dad's friend called me mitthu coz I would keep a pet parrot, and this uncle had gifted me that. And then the next one, and then the next one. When finally I could not handle parrots dying and asked him to stop. He still called me Mitthu forever, but I am guessing that's coz maybe he never knew my real name.
My mom, when overflowing with feelings, calls me her son-cheeraiya (golden bird).

Re: SuCHers For The Birds ...
when did you start being quiet again? i remember you saying you dont talk otherwise as much as you do here...
i have heard feedin little kids fruits that birds have eaten - liek amrood, makes them stop tutlana...donno whats it called in english.
truth is, the fruits eaten by birds should be eaten by all. they are the sweetest
and lol @ too many thoughts. i started talking (an no totli zuban..proper pronounciations) when i was 11 months old.
my best friend from childhood didnt talk till he was 3 yrs old. imagine his parents' ...they were worried woh kabhi bolega hi nahi. bcz i used to talk non-stop lol
i dont remember how he and i used to communicate but apparently we were inseparable and got along very well. we're still very good friends. more like family :-)

this i missed the first time...it's something tracy! my dad used to call me son- chiri (sone ki chidiya) and my sister was son-paakhi (meaning sone ka pankh)

Re: SuCHers For The Birds ...
It is a split personality now. I do launch verbal diarrheas at times. But I need my quiet to collect those many thoughts again. In public settings, I am mostly too entertained watching other rockstars, so don't talk much.
So ur childhood friend is now ur family, how? You married him?
yeah, can see the UP connection @ son-chiraiya... other versions were chiri and cheeriya.

lol noooo...i did not marry him! he's family in a way, as dear to me as my own sister...knows me as well as my family knows me. i know him more than his family knows about him. his mom n my mom are best friends forever. my dad and his dad were very close friends. he knows all my cousins and vice versa. i know all his cousins and vice versa. i call his mom mumma and he calls my mom mummy....u knwo that kinda thing

palak with egg whites? never heard of it. Have added palak in omelettes sometimes.
Dunno what I will make tonight. Most likely kaddu and toor daal. I lowww my kaddu sabzi when I make it with loving feelings. So I make on days I 'feel' it, and seems like today's the day.

i love kaddu too and would like to learn about palak with egg whites. do u boil eggs separately and add them to pisi palak ki sabzi instead of paneer?

Re: SuCHers For The Birds ...
Palak egg white curry is easy. I put the seasonings (red chilli, mustard, jeera, curry leaves), saute onions, add boiled palak, add salt and chilli (may add more masalas and tomatoes if you want, i guess)and then poach egg whites in it. Mix well and boil until eggs are done. That's it!

Ya this is what I thought too. I have added eggs in paneer bhurji this way a couple of times, either to increase the volume of the bhurji, or if both are nearing expiry.
