May be she wants to be with her mom/siblings. Still her life is set. She can go to Harvard or Emory with scholarship for medical or law.

Of course, she is not a Desi to think like JM - Ivy lrague or bust.

P.S. Why didn't Kamala Harris go to any Ivy?
