All except #1 have been solved.

LIABILITY for #2 can be explained as LI+ABILITY (LI for 51 or incomplete card deck, and ABILITY for skill).

1.    Diverted article, leaving bottom exposed.  (2-6)
Hints:
1. Definition is bolded.
2. Use synonyms for "bottom" and "exposed."
3. Ignore punctuation.

Additional hint --- the "article" in the clue is the indefinite article "a" ("article leaving' in the clue means -  delete letter "a" after putting the right synonyms together).
