Acura MDX. For last 7 years. Still going good, but I do feel a need for an upgrade. I have no money, else I would have changed by now. I keep joking with my husband that I will get a white Honda Odyssey next (his midlife nightmare), however I think if I have the money, I will upgrade to BMW X5 or one of those Lexus SUV's.

i was half joking but i have borrowed it from a friend a couple of different occasions to transport some heavy stuff. don't own it; if i had space for another vehicle and if i could afford it, i'd love to own this pickup truck.

Haven't heard from any GM/Ford owners yet. Looks like none here.

if you can afford it, get the porsche cayenne or the ML500. lightly used could be a great option.

test drove ML500 with intent but driven the porsche several times (an older relative has it and is content to sit in the passenger seat).

The ML 500 is not bad for light usage. My preference for the BMW in retrospect is purely based on looks. In terms of maintenance, I would say it is okay and don't see much of a difference in this department (based on my wife's 525i).
The best experience I have had in terms of problem-free cars is with Toyota and Honda, altho' toyota has had its problems of late

I have never owned a GM or Ford vehicle, but I have driven quite a bit in the Chevy Tahoe and Jeep Liberty. Both were almost-new rentals with less than 1,000 miles on each. And in both cases, I used them for a month and put 5,000 miles on each. Both felt like solid vehicles which are good to drive on the freeway, but I don't have any other SUV experiences to compare that against. I dislike SUVs because of the gas mileage and the difficulty of weaving in an out of lanes on a freeway.
