....Another Genius who stupidly dragged on and on only to be defeated by a 22 yr old in his hometown....

Anand had won the world championship title five times -- 2000, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2012 -- but ironically was dethroned in his home town of Chennai. In a dubious first, this was the only time that Anand failed to win a single game in a world championship match.

He was world champion in 2012. Can't fault him for trying to win one more time. Maybe he will bounce back next year, who knows?

This is not a team sport and he is not holding up a place deserved by an upcoming newcomer.
As long as he feels he can compete , it is none of our business.
