Mumbai: The BCCI is keen to send Test specialists, including seasoned fast bowler Zaheer Khan, to South Africa earlier than scheduled for acclimatisation if logistics work out in its favour.
"We are trying to send not only Zaheer but all others in the Test squad too who are not part of the ODI team early to South Africa. The issue is logistics over the number of available hotel rooms," BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel told PTI today.

Zaheer Khan, opener Murali Vijay, one-down batsman Cheteshwar Pujara, reserve wicket keeper Wridhiman Saha and left arm spinner Pragyan Ojha are part of only the Test squad picked by the selection committee on November 25.

-> Uppili Saar, would their spouses be accompanying them early as well, curious minds want to know. I must tell you I did not want to see Pujara & Vijay in the same sentence. I'm really worried for recently wedded Pujara  Razz

I agree...I think they should go back to the 70s model of not allowing wives and SOs on the tour. If vijay gets out early, the rest will be restless in the middle and love to get out fast.

BTW, I am trying to google for Murali Vijay's newly wed wife picture (is it the same as ex-Karthik?), and any gossip on karthi-Vijay's former GF.

Gambhir married around the time disastrous tour of England. His performance after that was sad.
Ashwin married around Australian tour. What a disaster? But recaptured his form on friendly Indian wickets.

Same thing with Dhoni. Remember pictures of him shopping and touring with his wife during the disastrous tour of Australia? I remember people - including myself - making fun of that and called for his firing.

Let us see who all falter in SA this time around.

May be players should take a break for 2 to 3 months and enjoy the important occasion of marriage.
