omg get out of here.. my mother is kaushik gothram too.... the way I understand the brahmin rules, this automatically makes you my brother.... the other rule that applies is, we don't take girls from families that we give girls to... in others words, if we were to marry, this proposal would have been rejected.

Yep, the logic is everybody from the same gothram are the descendents of the same sage..so we wouldn't get married..
