It has been a week of drama. Obama said 4T with taxe increases and spending cuts. Repubs got cornered. So they came back with all spending cuts. Full stop.

I think Obama won few points by looking like a guy who can propose bold spending cuts. Repubs do not have a good answer. So they fell back on no tax increase as cover to run.

Where were dems?

But the sword of no increase in debt ceiling is hanging over every ones head.

Long term markets may feel the politicos are too stupid to solve any problem.
