http://indiatoday.intoday.in/story/mani-shankar-aiyar-office-attacked-after-narendra-modi-tea-vendor-comment/1/338537.html?source=homebhtc

The journey began with unintelligible announcements in incomprehensible accents. “There even are places where English completely disappears/ In America, they haven’t spoken it for years!”: Prof Higgins in My Fair Lady. Fortunately, we have our daughter with us who, after eight years in America, serves as our interpreter. The staff are hospitable enough, but prone to behavioural excess, shouting aloud through the intercom, “Janet, party of two; Paul, party of one; Mani, party of three. Come down. Now.” in stentorian tones. No, “Please”, no “Mr”, no “Sir”, just stentorian commands. Democracy in America apparently means the right of the lower orders to be rude to their social superiors.

Max posted this a couple of weeks ago.

Too bad he didn't interact with Federal Govt. workers, he would've felt at home.

Peon system is very much alive in in Indian govt. Offices.
The dk problem is an extension of proms being used for household work.

He told me that one day a lady who was symapthetic to his plight told him to piss into the glass a little bit and fill the rest with water and enjoy watching the bureucrat quench his thirst.

I hear IT companies like Satyam hire folks for such tasks too, most of them are the kids attending junior college, work on part-time basis. Nothing wrong with that system as long as helping people employed. Some of the SuCHers (not you Kris) act as if they are above all of this but I'm sure the're the ones to abuse those peons at the slightest chance.

Not really! can't expect country's norms to go away just cz you & I moved out of the country or bcz you've developed a new perspective. Most of the class 4 or 5 employees lack required education to find other jobs and not everyone mistreats them. Mani Aiyar belongs to a different generation, not a yardstick of current generation.

Mani is just saying what CONmen usually think. CONartists think that they brought independence to India and are smarter than politicians from other political parties.

Someone should tell the arsholes that they belong to Indira CONgress, not the original Congress. Their contributions to India are - communal vote bank politics (sikularism) and corruption.

Chauchesku and Marie Antoinette will someday be hanged in Ramleela maidan.
