Rajya Sabha witnesses ugly scenes amid protest by MPs

NEW DELHI: Disruptions continued in the Rajya Sabha on Monday and ugly scenes were witnessed when an AIADMK leader pulled at the chairman's microphone and tore up some official papers of the house.

The Upper House witnessed protests over the proposed formation of Telangana, while members from Tamil Nadu demanded discussion on the issue of Tamil fishermen. .................

This is the only way to make the NI controlled parliament to do something about issues that affect Tamils.

Dr. Maitreyan is not only intelligent but also easygoing person with a calm demeanor. He is not given to emotional outbursts. Watch how he talks. Quite thoughtful and provides reasoned out and cogent arguments.

He lost his patience because of the attitude of NIs towards Tamils.

'Cannot return Kachchativu'

COLOMBO, MAY 28. Sri Lanka has rejected the Tamil Nadu Government's call to return Kachchativu, an island in the Palk Strait, ceded to the island in 1974, terming the demand impossible to comply with.
``It is impossible to give it back to them as it has been recognised by the international community as an integral part of our country since it was handed over by late Indira Gandhi,'' Sri Lanka's Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Minister, Mr. Mahinda Rajapakse, said.
He was responding to the renewed call for return of the island in the Tamil Nadu Governor Ms. Fathima Beevi's address to the State Assembly on March 25.

She continued the legacy of ceding Indian land to other countries that her father started. We should not be surprised to know that some islands in Arabian Sea are ceded to Italy or Colombia by Sonia and Rahul.
