wrt to the Telangana bill.

There is so much pure Urdu in the report that it could very well be Radio Pakistan. May be for the benefit of Hyderabadies.

Pure Urdu? That sounds nothing like Pakistani Urdu.

Wikipedia says urdu and hindi are "The colloquial languages are all but indistinguishable, and even though the official standards are nearly identical in grammar, they differ in literary conventions and in academic and technical vocabulary, "

I have a Pakistani colleague/friend whose wife used to the Urdu news in a local TV channel here in Washington. He used to say me he couldn't understand most of what she had been reading. His family, originally from Bareilly in India, spoke Urdu at home, but he never formally learned the language, having grown up in Europe and later in the U.S. He does speak refined Urdu.
