Why did BJP pick Hema Malini as a candidate?

All she did was to run around the trees letting Dharmendra chase her.

Rishi
Hema malini is one of the better star turned politicians in India. She helped many party mps by attending their rallies and acted as the star attraction. She probably does not actively voice opinions for fear of political retribution.
Besides she still looks good enough to look at compared to murali manoher joshi.

Cong should highlight the fact that she converted to Islam to marry Dharmendra. This would help dissuade Modi supporters from voting for her.

This is the first time she is fighting an election. Before this she had been a (nominated) member of the Rajya Sabha.
