BJP General Secretary ( and grandson of staunch secularist) wants to chop off the heads of Muslims after elections Empty BJP General Secretary ( and grandson of staunch secularist) wants to chop off the heads of Muslims after elections

In 2009, video recordings emerged of the callow BJP leader boasting before a crowd in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh that his were not ordinary hands. "These are the hands of  the 'kamal' ," he roared, referring to the party's poll symbol, adding, "And these would chop off the heads of  Muslims after the elections." To make matters worse, he used an incendiary expletive to describe the community. Varun was arrested, charged with inciting violence under Section 153 of the Indian Penal Code, and released on bail after three weeks. But despite the existence of clear video evidence, the trial court acquitted him last year after he refused to provide a voice sample (something he should have been compelled to do), all witnesses turned hostile and the prosecution too failed to properly press its case. The BJP then went on to elevate Varun as a general secretary of the party.

The UP government has since gone on appeal, especially in the light of a sting operation conducted byTehelka in which many witnesses were captured on camera admitted turning hostile because they had been threatened by local police and politicians. The sting generated damning evidence that much of the leg work to produce the acquittal was done by a Muslim politician from the Samajwadi Party, Riyaz Ahmed, as 'payback' for Varun Gandhi's assistance in helping him to get elected as an MLA. Ahmed is now a minister in the UP government.

And this ABCD sits atop an elite society and pontificates about caste and religious conflicts.... a villager of his age in India understands the caste and religious equations than this Westernised ABCD Iyer boy - who was never told anything about caste or Indias history by anyone except from the western academicians.

(I talked to a couple of ABCDs and asked them why they have Iyer and Pillai as their last name - these top-ranked high schooler had no clue except to say that is how their parents kept their family name).  This Sidhu (or varadhu) belongs to that category. He should go back to international news reporting without getting involved in cultural-based local demographic politics.

...Dr Subramanian Swamy filed a case in Delhi High Court to challenge his appointment as editor since Varadarajan is a US citizen. Govt opposed but High Court Chief Justice Bench issued notice. On June, 2012 Dr Swamy also made a written complaint to Press Registrar and Asst Press Registrar of News Papers of India under Ministry of IB, Govt of India.[3][4] N Ram denied Varadharajan's resignation in any way related to Dr Swamy's case of but admitted that it “was hanging like a sword over our heads”.[5]

He beleongs to the category of N Ram, Mani Shankar iyer and other Western-raised and Delhi/bombay raised Tambrahmis.
